Found OCI after her previous gym closed and got talked into trying a class by Coach Chrissy—ended up loving it and never left. When the chance to coach came up, it was an easy yes.
Coaching style is high energy, fun, and motivating. Expect good music (90s–2000s hip hop), some dancing, and a coach who will push you when you’re capable—but also meet you where you’re at. Big on making sure everyone feels confident, comfortable, and like it’s the best hour of their day.
Has been doing CrossFit for about 10 years and coaching for 4. Didn’t grow up as an athlete—came from bootcamp-style classes and lifting—but CrossFit is what stuck. Self-proclaimed world’s okayest CrossFitter, but shows up and puts in the work every time.
Loves chippers and AMRAPs. Favorite movements are rowing, dumbbell snatches, cleans, and deadlifts. Not a fan of thrusters, burpees, or double unders—but still does them anyway.
Outside the gym, she works at a university in Lakeland. You’ll usually find her at Disney or Universal, kayaking, hiking, or watching movies. Big reader (thrillers/suspense) and can probably communicate in movie quotes. Also will 100% try to pet any animal she sees.
OCI became home because of the people. The community, the support, and the way everyone shows up for each other—whether it’s your class or not—is what makes it different.
